The festive decoration lights up for the third time in front of the Basilica where hot delicacies and a skating rink evokes Christmas atmosphere. The Basilica is dressed into colorful and magnificent lights every night – in every half an hour a video show covers the huge facade and tells about Christmas themes. I helped offer a Christmas lunch to the least well-off in Budapest today. It was the best thing I’ve done since I arrived here. The Hungarian Interchurch Aid organisation ran the event, with support from local companies, and I went down with a small group from the Embassy to do what we could to contribute.
