The concert features much loved pieces of contemporary Japanese and European music, performed by exceptionally talented Japanese and Hungarian students of Liszt Academy. Jyo Hisaishi is a Japanese composer and musical director best known for his work with animator Hayao Miyazaki.

On until 10 May. The name //////////fur//// covers two media artists and art critics, gadget artists and game designers, Volker Morawe and Tilmann Reiff. They are perceived by some as artistic sadists, other consider them – by reason of their boldly fresh and unconventional approach – the Dadaists of their genre.

The National Philharmonic continues its series of concerts of dramatic works by Richard Strauss which have never or only rarely been performed in Hungary. The concert begins with a Strauss curiosity in the shape of music written in 1940 to honour the 2,600th anniversary of the Japanese Empire, a work that features Japanese temple gongs.

It has been exactly 130 years since the Budapest Opera opened its gates on 27 September, 1884. The Hungarian State Opera commemorates the anniversary of the opening with crowds in period costumes, an extraordinary gala concert, the premier of a film, and the publication of a historical book.
