A travelling exhibition installed in a train wagon was opened at Budapest’s Nyugati railway station. It pays tribute to Hungarians deported to Soviet forced labour camps in late 1944 and during the first half of 1945. Hungary’s middle classes have thinned during the period of 2001 to 2011, according to a new Central Statistical Office (KSH) study. Ákos Huszár, one of the study’s editors, said data revealed that the share of highprestige professionals, top executives and middle management in the whole population had risen while so had the share of unskilled workers and those at the brim of society.

Hungarian Jews were faithful to Hungary which they regarded as their homeland, and did their best to promote its prosperity, the Israeli ambassador said in Bonyhád in southern Hungary, opening an exhibition in the local synagogue.
