Opel Magyarország increased its sales by more than 50% in Hungary in 2014 from a year earlier. As the German carmaker’s Hungarian unit in Szentgotthárd is expected to substantially increase its output on higher demand for Flex engines, headcount could grow by 500 this year from 1,400, managers of Opel said.

Viktor Szigetvári, the co-leader of the E-PM party, called on cabinet chief János Lázár and economy minister Mihály Varga to indicate whether the press report was correct and if so, to reveal what the purpose of the plan was.
