Hundreds Of Thousands Celebrated The Anniversary Of The Foundation Of The State In Budapest

In the evening of 20 August, the day that marks the anniversary of the foundation of the Hungarian State, more than half a million people watched the ceremonial fireworks display held on the Danube Banks. The ceremonial events attracted much attention and were held in high spirits; thousands of tourists were able to share the festive atmosphere of one of Hungary’s greatest national holidays.
International Women Are Having A Ball In Budapest

Tickets are now on sale for 'Saturday Night Fever' on 5 May, this year's International Women's Club of Budapest Charity Ball. Funds raised at this event will go their “Lift a Life” project which helps destitute Hungarian Families. IWC intends to help these families restart their lives in a small way, for example by providing the children with staple foods so they do not go hungry every day.

"A fire department crane fell over and destroyed a parked car in Buda Castle early Wednesday.The crane was to lift Mihály Munkácsy's Christ trilogy of paintings into the first floor exhibition room of the National Gallery.
