An exhibition of 70-80 paintings by the Hungarian master Mihály Munkácsy (1844-1900) from the collections of the Hungarian National Gallery and the Hungarian-born collector Imre Pákh will open in the Hermitage Museum in St Petersburg in the autumn of 2018.

Annual May Museums’ Festival features 120 Hungarian museums which will bring along presentations about their museums to the courtyard of the National Hungarian Museum for two days. It was nothing short of a miracle that he survived in the ruined and looted capital after the war.
