The Vera and Donald Blinken Open Society Archives invited young composers to enter the music competition based on the exhibition, Some Kind of Opposition… by Axel Braun. The selected scores will be performed in the framework of the concert entitled, Some Music, Something Else. The concert will be the closing event of the exhibition.

The radical nationalist Jobbik should give priority to preparations for governing rather than keeping individual interests in view, deputy leader Tamás Sneider said, responding to press reports about the replacement of three fellow deputy leaders. It was announced on Wednesday that party leader Gábor Vona decided to replace three of his deputies, Előd Novák, István Apáti and István Szávay.

A commemoration was held to mark the 135th birth anniversary of Hungarian composer Béla Bartók (1881-1945) in the Budapest Farkasrét Cemetery on Friday. “We must continue to duly preserve and further promote Bartók’s legacy,” the human resources minister told MTI after the event.

Last weekend the Hungexpo in Budapest hosted one of the largest car tuning shows in Europe. For the uninitiated a car tuning show is not like your average car-show, think more "Pimp my Ride" than Geneva!
