Hungarian design agency Spora Architects has won the Building of the Year Awards for the best public buildings, handed out by ArchDaily, one of the world’s most influential websites on architecture. The metro stations at Gellért tér and Fővám tér on Budapest’s newly-opened Line 4 came first in the community spaces category.

These acts add a strong international character to the biggest summer open-air event of Eastern Hungary, held in Debrecen, the second city of the country. Is it a bird, a plane, or an exotic supercar? A new Hungarian made concert piano, developed under the inspiration of Kossuth Prize-winning pianist Gergely Bogányi, was recently presented to the press in Budapest. The sleek, futuristic Zengafons piano, which would not look out of place on the set of Star Wars, will make its public debut at the Budapest Academy of Music.
