New rules concerning the opening hours of retail outlets during the Christmas holidays will result in stores closing longer this year, the National Association of Retailers said on Monday. The survey found that the most people do their regular Sunday shopping on other days, while one-fourth of the respondents choose smaller stores. The National Election Committee (NVB) sanctioned a referendum question on Sunday shopping restrictions and a signature drive can now be started in the interest of holding a referendum on the question. The question approved by the NVB was submitted by Gabriella Simon Gercsényi as a private individual on October 20, and then again on October 30 with some required changes.
