We are pleased to inform you that the basement of Central Market Hall has been renewed. The primary goal of the program of improvement was the introduction of quality Hungarian products that can be found and bought there. In the Avenue of Hungaricums you can also see the world famous scientific invention of Gabor Domokos and Peter Varkonyi, the Gömböc (Gomboc).

It only serves special interests, and it should be killed – by legislation or a referendum. The chorus of opposition to the Sunday closing law has mostly hit the same basic note: Forcing larger retailers to close on Sundays is bad for business and the economy.

Hungary’s National Consumer Protection Authority (NFH) levied fines of about 711 million forints (EUR 2.34m) for violations last year, down by some 230 million forints from 2013, business daily Napi Gazdaság said.

Employers’ Assoc Maintains Stand Against Sunday Shopping Restrictions

Hungary’s main employer association said on Thursday that it objects to the law severely restricting Sunday shopping. The National Association of Entrepreneurs and Employers (VOSZ) said it maintains its refusal to endorse the law and will not asses a draft implementation decree for the law.
