'Honvéd Dance Theatre', Festival Theatre, 6 March
- 4 Mar 2010 2:00 AM
The authors of the Honvéd Dance Theatre have approached Petőfi’s original work with irreverence yet respect and made a unique music and dance piece. They naturally follow the story faithfully but Petőfi’s tale is permeated with many folklore elements drawn from the folk music treasure trove and also with some hearty humour.
This is a very colourful performance; it contains amorous lyricism and slapstick fights, nightmarish adventures with a dragon, rides on unique horses, hussars who are not quite what they seem and an army of dancing fairies…
The authors of this work sincerely hope that their own charming and original version of the tale will bring much joy to both children and adults.
