Taxi Driver In Budapest Survives Stabbing
"A Budapest cab driver was taken to hospital with serious injuries Thursday after he was stabbed by a male passenger. The offender planned to rob the driver, and stabbed him several times upon arrival at his destination, but did not manage to take his money.

The taxi driver picked up the passenger in the 11th District in Buda and drove him to the Ninth District. Once they arrived, the passen-ger stabbed the driver several times, but could not force him to hand over the money. He then ran off.

After the injured driver called for help from police and alerted his colleagues via the ra-dio, 40-50 cab drivers arrived to look for the offender on the streets. One noticed a man with blood on his hands and ran after him. Other drivers caught up to them at the inter section of Ecseri út and the M5. They kept the attacker there until police arrived.

The victim was operated on in hospital."
