The formation comprises Macedonian, Romanian, Bulgarian and French musicians and groups. In the new line up, the resident band is the Romanian Mahala Rai Banda.
One of the star guests is 66 year old Macedonian singer Esma Redzepova who became a celebrated musician at age 13 and who has twice been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize.
Indira Gandhi crowned her as queen of the gypsies. Besides Romanian and Balkan musicians, the Kaloome group contribute Mediterranean Gypsy and North African folk music.
