Hungarians May Be Banned From Ice Hockey Final
"Hungary has qualified for the final match of the Division 1 Group B world ice hockey tournament against host nation Slovenia, but some of its fans may be banned.

Organisers of the game scheduled for Ljubljana’s Tivoli stadium on Friday night are planning to prevent those Hungarian fans from entering who have purchased tickets in the Slovene sector, Napi Gazdaság reports.

Most of the early ticket sales for the final went to Hungarians, who often asked friends in Ljubljana to buy the tickets for them.

Organisers have decided that tickets purchased after February 5 cannot be used by anyone with Hungarian identity papers.

Hungarian Ice Hockey Association chairman Ferenc Studniczky said “It is impossible to prevent persons with valid tickets from watching the match”.

Hungary qualified for the final with a 2-0 victory over Great Britain on Wednesday.

The game winner will be promoted to world ice hockey’s highest level."
