'Square-Film-Music Festival', Millenáris Park Budapest, Until 8 August
- 26 Jul 2010 3:00 AM
As the guests of the Square-Film-Music Festival have become used to it, the organisers did not change two things this year either: on the one hand, they insist on conveying real cultural values, and on the other hand the film screenings and the performances of the artists can be visited for free.
The programme will also include a commemoration of Ferenc Erkel and Chopin, who were born 200 years ago. Furthermore, we can see films with the actor István Bujtor, who died last year. There will be a separate set of films about János Rózsa, who won the Hungarian Film Week’s Lifetime Achievement Award.
Similarly to last year, there will be screenings for children and parents in nostalgic mood in the afternoon, including serials and soaps, carefully selected from the Hungarian and international films of the last decades.
The audience can listen to live concerts each day (a few names from the list of performers: Mariann Falusi and the Hot Jazz Band, Ádám Török and the Mini, Neil Young Sétány, Budapest Ragtime Band, Bohém Quartet, Benkó Dixieland Band, etc.), and of course visitors can also enjoy a journey in time through films: according to the most popular tradition of the festival, silent films will be screened after 10 p.m. with some piano music by István Gyarmati."
