Updated: Used Car Sales Climb Significantly Again in Hungary
Used car sales in Hungary rose 13pc year-on-year to 84,500 in March, listings site JoAutok.hu said on Tuesday, citing figures compiled by DataHouse.

Used car sales in January-March climbed 6.4pc year-on-year to 238,100, JoAutok.hu said. The number of imported used cars rose 3.7pc to 32,800, it added.

Opel was the most popular brand among used car buyers in the first quarter, with 10.3pc market share. Runner up was Volkswagen, with 10.2pc market share, followed by Suzuki with 8.2pc.

New car registrations in Hungary rise 4pc in Jan-March

The number of new passenger car registrations in Hungary rose 4pc year-on-year to 32,900 in January-March, data compiled by the European Automobile Manufacturers' Association (ACEA) show.

Hybrid electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles accounted for 56pc of sales, cars with petrol engines made up 24pc and vehicles with diesel engines 13pc. Fully-electric vehicles accounted for 7pc of sales.

Sales of battery electric vehicles climbed 5pc to 2,400 during the period.
