Fidesz May Curb Constitutional Court In Hungary
"Fidesz threatened to curtail the powers of the Constitutional Court after the judges unanimously declared unconstitutional the governemnt’s 98% tax on public-sector workers severance payments over Ft 2 million.

Caucus leader János Lázár said Fidesz will reduce the Court’s purview to include only those issues on which a referendum may be held, thereby excluding any interventions on budgetary issues, centralised and local taxes, duties and customs.

The Court struck down the bill unanimously, the first time that it had blocked a bill proposed by the present government, with four judges – Mihály Bihari, László Kiss, Barnabás Lenkovics and István Stumpf – appending explanations for their decision."
