Bank Robber Killed In Shootout In Budapest

A passer-by called the police after seeing hooded men carrying sub-machine guns enter the bank. The robbers managed to leave the bank with Ft 2.8 million but police quickly arrived on the scene. A bank clerk had reportedly pressed a silent alarm button. The cash was found near the body of the Romanian.
The 32-year-old Hungarian, who was captured on the scene gave police the name of the third raider, who was captured Sunday evening.
Budapest Police chief Tamás Tóth said the same robbers had probably robbed the same bank of Ft 9 million a year ago.
Deputy police chief Valter Fülöp said the police officers had acted within the law, because the robbers had opened fire on them. Police will hold a press briefing on the robbery today."
