Record M+A Activity in Hungary Hits USD 9 Billion Level
The estimated value of disclosed mergers and acquisitions in Hungary rose almost 40pc to USD 9bn, a record high, last year, an analysis by EY-Parthenon shows.

Transaction value climbed on a number of "mega-deals", while transaction numbers were practically flat at 110, EY-Parthenon said.

Fourteen deals were made in the manufacturing sector, more than in an any other. There were eleven transactions in the IT sector, eight in the energy sector and eight in logistics.

Acquisitions of Hungarian companies by foreign buyers accounted for 34pc of M+A transactions, while deals between domestic businesses made up 48pc.

M+A transactions by Hungarian businesses abroad accounted for 18pc.
