Flight Crews Allege Guards' Harassment At Budapest Ferihegy Airport
"Pilots and stewardesses working at Ferihegy airport have appealed to civil rights ombudsman Máté Szabó over “the uncivilised and harassing conduct of some security guards,” which they say violates their human rights. The ombudsman has begun an inquiry.

The airline personnel say they have been submitted to humiliating cavity searches, and one of them has launched a website and posted 19 accounts of various cases of degradation.

Budapest Airport spokesman Mihály Hardy said staff are only adhering to EU instructions. It is very difficult to make airline staff understand that the same regulations apply to them as to passengers, he added.

Security checks were tightened at Ferihegy in July after the airport failed a International Civil Aviation Organisation test."
