Hungarian State Secretary Announces Ft 8bn For The Poor
"The cabinet will launch a two-year, Ft 8 billion project to boost education, employment and accommodation for disadvantaged people, social affairs state secretary Zoltan Balog announced last week. Speaking at an Academy of Sciences conference on the social advancement of Roma, Balog said the cabinet decided yesterday to launch an annual Ft 3 billion grant scheme for poorer children at high school level and a Ft 4.6 billion project to improve accommodation, drawing on domestic and EU funds.

Norwegian ambassador Siri Ellen Sletner said her government will continue to provide subsidies to disadvantaged people and communities over the next five years."
