Suzuki Hungary Recalls 125,000 Swift Models
"Suzuki Magyarország is recalling 125,000 Swift cars manufactured at its Hungarian production base in Esztergom in 1997-2002, due to corrosion of the front shock absorbers, which could lead to further problems, state news agency MTI reports.

Suzuki confirmed the news after the recall was revealed by unnamed car dealers and service stations in Komárom-Esztergom county.

Owners of the vehicles in question may receive a free replacement of the shock absorbers upon presentation of the official letter to be sent to them by Suzuki, said spokeswoman Viktória Ruska. The replacements could cost Suzuki an estimated Ft 5 billion.

The carmaker stressed that the corrosion of the shock absorbers can not be linked to any accidents to date.

The deficient parts were supplied by Hungarian company Berva Eger, which is no longer in business.

This is the eighth recall of Magyar Suzuki cars, Népszabadság notes."
