Scrub Daddy Inaugurates 1.5 Billion Forints Expansion in Hungary

The government supported the investment, which created 15 jobs and secured 150 existing workplaces, with HUF 260m, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Peter Szijjarto said at the ceremony.
The government also signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Scrub Daddy.
Szijjarto noted that American-owned companies had invested HUF 200bn in Hungary in 2025.
Scrub Daddy is an American company that makes household cleaning tools, most famously smile‑faced sponges whose texture becomes firmer in cold water and softer in warm water.
The brand started when inventor Aaron Krause adapted a specialty scrubbing material into everyday sponges, later popularized after the company’s appearance on the TV show Shark Tank.
Today Scrub Daddy sells a wide range of products beyond sponges, including scouring pads, dual‑sided scrubbers, sink organizers, and cleaning sprays, all marketed around fun designs and “high‑performance” materials.
The company has grown into one of the top‑grossing products from Shark Tank, with hundreds of millions of dollars in retail sales and products sold in hundreds of thousands of store locations across the U.S.
