Hungarian Photography Contest Winners Announced
"András D. Hajdú, a staff photographer with news website Origo, has won the grand prize of the 30th Hungarian Photography Contest with a series of pictures on the deaths of three women at a stampede at the West Balkan disco last year.

Hajdú also won the André Kertész Grand Prix and a Munkácsi Márton prize.

Nearly 9,000 pictures had been entered by 307 photographers in the contest. The best will go on display at the National Museum on March 24.

The jury panel was chaired by Tony Hicks, European and African photo editor for the Associated Press."
