Great Campaign Launch With Screening Of “The Iron Lady” In Budapest
- 15 Feb 2012 8:01 AM
The film, directed by Phyllida Lloyd, depicts three days of the first female Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. The Iron Lady is played by Meryl Streep who has received a Golden Globe prize for “Best Actress (Drama)” for her portrayal of Margaret Thatcher.
Before the screening, Chargé d’Affaires Theresa Bubbear welcomed the more than 500 guests at a reception in the hall of the cinema. Mrs Bubbear gave a short introduction of the GREAT campaign, which was designed to showcase the capabilities of the United Kingdom and promote Great Britain as a destination for business, investment and tourism in 2012 – the year of the London Olympic and Paralympic Games – and beyond.
Among the valuable presents drawn at the raffle at the reception were the Olympic and Paralympic mascots Wenlock and Mandeville offered by the British Embassy. Guests easily filled two large screening rooms where they all had the opportunity to see the short version of the recent film called Game Changer about the Olympic and Paralympic preparations before the feature film."
