Nézőpont Poll: Majority Of Hungarians Convinced By Orbán’s Retoric
- 21 Mar 2012 8:01 AM
"Some 72-89% of respondents to a poll conducted by the Nézőpont Institute agree with the main messages of Prime Minister Viktor Orbán’s speech on March 15. More particularly, 71% agreed with Orbán’s contention that Hungary could easily become a colony of foreign interests.
Such a scenario could be averted by “a firm assertion of national interests,” according to 72%, while 28% disagreed.
The poll found that 79% agree with Orbán’s statement that “a country can only be free if it is financially independent,” and 89% accept his assertion that the National Bank is independent only if it protects the Hungarian economy against foreign interests."
