Hungary Rewards Olympic Gold Medalists With Ft 35 Million

The Hungarian Cabinet approved the payment of Ft 2.2 billion in bonuses to Hungary’s most successful athletes at the London Olympics, as well as to support staff. The one-off payments range from Ft 35 million for gold medalists to Ft 2 million for those who finished eighth in their competition.
Hungarian Olympic Committee president Zsolt Borkai said their coaches, doctors and psychologists will also receive considerable rewards.
