Cabinet To Create Financial Ombudsman In Hungary
The cabinet will establish an Office for Financial Rights Ombudsman, the Public Administration Ministry announced on Thursday, following an initiative by Prime Minister Viktor Orbán. The office will help protect consumers financially and influence banks and credit institutes by making recommendations, launching inquiries to protect rights, and by advising.

The economy minister will name the ombudsman but neither he nor anyone will be able to instruct him as “it will operate as a completely independent, impartial institution.”
