Secretary Of State Hillary Clinton Received Foreign Minister Martonyi In Washington

She stated that the talks would focus on deepening and broadening bilateral cooperation and referred to the upcoming anniversary of Hungary's anti-Soviet uprising in 1956, adding that she greatly appreciated Hungarians' love of freedom.
At the meeting, Minister Martonyi thanked the US for a friendly dialogue and recent advice from the US government to Hungary. He also pointed out that Hungary would celebrate the 90th anniversary of diplomatic ties with the US this year.
Following the meeting the Hungarian Foreign Minister attended a roundtable discussion hosted by the Atlantic Council, a Washington-based think tank.
According to plans, he will also give a speech at a meeting hosted by the Council on Foreign Relations on October 19. He will be meeting representatives of the Hungarian American community, and will inaugurate Daniel Hughes as the new honorary consul for Hungary in New Orleans at a ceremonial event.
