Xpat Report: British Ambassador To Hungary Speaks For Transparency
On the occasion of International Anti-Corruption Day British Ambassador Jonathan Knott spoke at Transparency International’s “Átláccó Festival” on 7 December.

Organised on A38 Ship the Embassy-sponsored all day long event consisted of presentations, panel discussions, an award ceremony as well as a concert. In his speech Ambassador Knott talked about the UK’s chairmanship of the Open Government Partnership and highlighted the parallel between transparency and prosperity. He also thanked Transparency International for the successful outcomes of their joint projects with the Embassy and pledged continued support for the work of the organisation.

The British Embassy in Budapest actively promotes transparency and sponsors anti-corruption projects. In July 2012 the Embassy supported TI’s “Big Splash - Time to wake up” campaign and in the same month Ambassador Knott took part in TI and Sziget Festival’s joint awareness raising water gun fight.
