HUF 500 Million for Noise Protection for Nearby Institutions by Budapest Airport

The company donated 250 million forints today to improve thermal and noise insulation at Heim Pál National Pediatric Institute. At the same time, the sixth phase of the airport operator’s 3-billion-forint residential noise protection program has started.
Budapest Airport, part of the VINCI network, handed over a 250-million-forint donation to Heim Pál National Pediatric Institute today. This forms part of a broader noise protection strategy.
Beyond this donation, the airport is providing an extra 220 million forints for noise insulation at schools, kindergartens, and other public institutions near the airport.
The aim of these measures is to reduce noise exposure for local residents and users of nearby institutions, while ensuring the airport operates in full compliance with regulations.
Besides the children’s hospital, Budapest Airport has already allocated half a billion forints to support institutions such as the Family Support and Child Welfare Service in Vecsés, Széchenyi István Elementary School in Kőbánya, Napraforgó Nursery in District XVII, Kondor Béla Cultural Center in District XVIII, and Üllő City Library.
The funding covers replacements of doors and windows, directly benefiting hundreds of children and families in their daily lives.
“It matters to both Budapest Airport and the Hungarian state that the airport’s operations deliver value not just economically, but socially too,” said Máté Lóga, chairman of Budapest Airport’s Board of Directors and state secretary for economic development and industry at the Ministry of National Economy.
He continued: “We take pride in supporting noise protection for nearby institutions and Heim Pál Children’s Hospital. A quiet environment plays a key role in helping sick children recover. With this support, hospital patients can now heal in a more peaceful and modern setting.”
Social responsibility ranks high at Budapest Airport, which is why it has aided the country’s largest pediatric institution for the second time in six months. The latest funds go toward thermal and noise insulation at the facility.
On top of this, the sixth phase of the For the Neighbors of Budapest Airport Foundation’s residential noise protection program launched in April. The airport operator has now invested nearly 3 billion forints in this, the largest program of its kind to date.
