Fidesz MP: No Completely New Election Bill In Hungary

No completely new bill on election procedure is expected, Fidesz MP Gergely Gulyás told news website Inforádió on Monday. The Constitutional Court last Friday voided several provisions of the act as unconstitutional, including prior voter registration for those with a permanent Hungarian address.
Fidesz caucus leader Antal Rogán had earlier announced that no election registration will materialise for those with Hungarian address in 2014, Gulyás claimed, stressing that Fidesz expects to hold consultations on the other portions of the act objected to by the court in February. The aforementioned questions will be referred back to Parliament for a debate before final voting.
