Public Servants In Hungary Must Retire This Month
State employees over the retirement age of 62 years must retire by January 31, according to a government decree published in the official gazette Magyar Közlöny.

This creates a fuzzy situation, since previous regulations gave those affected the right to apply for an exemption until January 15, Népszabadság observed.

The decree does not exempt such critical sectors as health care, the newspaper pointed out.

University and college teachers are exempted.
