The Shoemaker's Dream, National Dance Theatre Budapest, 24 January
In a dream, anything can happen. You may fly without wings, conquer giants, walk on the rainbow or swing on a fluffy cloud. Something similar happens to our fun-loving and whistling shoemaker: in his dream, shoes come to live, and start tapping and knocking and dancing and fooling around. The shoes come to life, and the artisan’s tools also dance around the workshop as if they were alive…

The shoemaker, Mr Whistler, and his beautiful wife join in, to dance and spin around with the slippers, the wooden shoes, and the boots with welts and spurs. This shoemaker is one of a kind, and if the Sun had legs, it would ask no one but him to make its shoes!

If you don’t believe us, come and see for yourselves how two puppeteers and two dancers conjure up a tale of dreams!
