Major Sports Retailer in Hungary to Shut Webshop
Sports retail chain Hervis will close its Hungarian online store at midnight on March 31, 2026, according to customer notifications. Starting April 1, all warranty and product‑related issues must be handled exclusively in physical stores.

The move follows the company’s broader withdrawal from both the Hungarian and Romanian markets, where it is selling the operating companies and transferring 29 stores in Hungary and 49 in Romania to the U.K.‑based Frasers Group.

The parties have agreed to keep the purchase price and contract details confidential. Hervis has struggled financially in Hungary since 2022, facing significant operational difficulties that signaled a likely exit.

The transition to new ownership could begin as early as this year, with Frasers integrating the stores into its portfolio, which includes Sports Direct, Everlast and Lonsdale.

The physical Hervis stores in Hungary will remain open for the time being during the handover period.
