Hungarian Police Charged For Assault On Arab
- 20 Feb 2013 8:00 AM
Prosecutors have pressed charges against two police officers and a civilian over the beating of UAE chess official Saud Mohamed al-Marzuki in Szeged last June. Csongrád county prosecutors said three police officers were patrolling in a civilian car when they spotted the official, who was accompanying chess player Salim Abdur-Rahman.
When the police took them for illegal immigrants and asked for their identification papers, the visitors ran away.
The police officers began to chase them and a taxi driver joined them cutting off the two Arabs with his car, breaking traffic rules.
Two police officers then kicked and struck al-Marzuki.
