Xpat Event Report: Jazz Star Charms Audience At Bohém Festival In Hungary
New York-based jazz singer Catherine Russell performed to a full-house at the Kecskemét Bohém Jazz & Ragtime Festival on March 24. Daughter of the late Louis Russell, the long-time musical director for Louis Armstrong, Ms. Russell enchanted the audience with her voice, wit, and personal warmth and earned a standing ovation for a performance of a traditional Hungarian jazz song in Hungarian.

As Public Affairs Counselor Karyn Posner-Mullen said, “Jazz has the power to bridge political, cultural, and generational differences and through jazz we celebrate diversity as well as common ground.” The Embassy was proud to support Ms. Russell’s participation in the Festival.
