MDAC has been working in Hungary for more than 10 years now.

Among other successes here, most importantly we achieved a ban on the use of inhuman cage beds in psychiatric facilities.

However, there is still a lot more to be done. In Hungary, more than 60,000 people are under guardianship, a legal restriction which can strip you of your autonomy: you are not allowed to decide how to spend your money, where to live, or even to get married or vote!

More than 20,000 people with disabilities are segregated from society in large institutions.
