Fidesz Accuses Bajnai Of Attack On Party HQ In Budapest
Party spokesman Péter Hoppál yesterday revived the Fidesz claim that former prime minister Gordon Bajnai was behind the attack on Fidesz headquarters in March. In response, the Together-Dialogue alliance said it will sue Hoppál for libel.

He said a number of members of the “violent Bajnai gárda” had been seen in the immediate vicinity of the Together-Dialogue leader or with his associates.

“Bajnai encouraged young people to carry out violent acts, and they smashed things in the Fidesz headquarters in March, he said.

Dozens of protesters entered the area of the Fidesz headquarters on March 7, in protest against the fourth amendment to the Basic Law.

Hoppál noted that many of the same persons attended Monday’s demonstration outside the Lendvay utca building.

Together-Dialogue said Bajnai did not organise or encourage the March event, adding that the alliance will topple the Orbán regime in a peaceful and democratic way.
