Hungarian Maltese Charity Service Celebrates Its 25th Anniversary At Budapest Wine Festival

The special celebrations will start this autumn. The first public event will be held at the Budapest Wine Festival, where the Hungarian Maltese Charity Service will be arriving with its winemaking supporters.
The Hungarian Maltese Charity Service will even host its own stand, where the wines of the Sovereign Order of Malta will be presented. Visitors can taste wines, take part in quiz, and win valuable wines.
The Knightly Winemakers is the exclusive society of winemakers and winegrowers who have supported our Maltese projects by offering their wines for our yearly charity wine auctions. As well as their technical expertise, they are also role models for social responsibility as partners of the Hungarian Maltese Charity Service.
„We are watching over you”
The rescue Service of the Hungarian Maltese Charity Service is unique in Hungary. Made up exclusively of volunteers, it performs rescues in Budapest every day. The volunteer work of more than 150 experts is supported by the most up-to-date technology.
The Rescue Service has been guarding the wellbeing of festival-goers for ten years. Highly trained volunteers are working in the two ambulances, who are prepared to solve the most diffi cult situations. Luckily, serious injuries are rare at the Festival, but they have had to perform lifesaving procedures in the past. In the most part their work consists of treating small injuries from broken glass and people who are unaware of their limits.
In the last three years the team has been international, with help from the German Maltese Rescue Service. Naturally, the next day they return as guests, because to serve is a noble task, to taste Hungarian wines a special experience for them.
„We invite visitors to the Hungarian Maltese Charity Service stand for a game. The wines and sparkling wines of the Maltese order will be exhibited, and can be won by those answering the quiz correctly. Everyone is a winner though, because one of the Knightly Winemakers will invite every participant for a wine tasting. We will take humorous, knightly photos of brave participants. Visitors can get to know the story of the Charity Service, its activities, projects and can join their favourite projects or support our Rescue Service, the volunteers of which will be guarding the safety of festival-goers. In the evenings, members of the Charity Service invite those interested for conversations with a nice glass of wine.”
