Inflation Down To 1.8% In Hungary In July
Inflation dropped to 1.8% year-on-year in July, from 1.9% in June, the Central Statistics Office announced. The figure was below the 2.1% forecast by most analysts. Core inflation was 2.8% year-on-year, and 0.2% month-on-month.

Analysts also overestimated the July inflation figures in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Romania, Zsolt Kondrát of MKB bank pointed out.

The low inflation supports the view that the central bank will continue its rate cuts, observed István Horváth, investment director of fund manager K&H Alapkezel.
