Hungary's Former PM Bajnai Denounces Sukoró Trial

“Sukoró is the symbol of how attempts are made to mix law with politics, and to render the position of political opponents impossible with show trials” former prime minister Gordon Bajnai told reporters on Friday after testifying in the case at the Szolnok Court.
The cancellation of the casino and resort project means that the creation of thousands of jobs and a major investment project were prevented,” he added, saying the $1 billion project would have provided jobs to 2,000-2,500 people.
Prosecutors say a land swap in connection with the project would have cost the state Ft 1.3 billion.
