Csaba Czeglédy, leader of the Socialists on the town council, said he had filed a criminal report regarding the accusations.

Czeglédy recently made public a video recording on which Fidesz deputy mayor Viktor Lazáry is seen apparently taking cocaine. The National Bureau of Investigation is investigating that matter.

“If somebody commits a crime, he has no place in Fidesz or in public life,” party spokesman Péter Hoppál told reporters on Wednesday.
