Hungarians Working Abroad Send Home Remittances Worth 1.8% Of GDP
Up to October last year, 2,403 million US dollars arrived in Hungary from remittances sent by Hungarians working abroad, equal to 1.8% of economic output, according to World Bank data.

In Poland the ratio was 1.4%, in Romania and Slovakia 2.1% while in the Czech Republic the same proportion was 1%, Népszava daily said, reporting on the figures.

Altogether 462,000 Hungarians have emigrated, representing 4.6% of the population.

The most favoured destinations are Germany and the United Kingdom.
