An Evening Of Richard Strauss, Liszt Academy Budapest, 4 April
- 2 Apr 2014 9:02 AM
Richard Strauss was born 150 years ago, in 1864. For many, he is a creator of operas, the composer of Salome, Elektra, Der Rosenkavalier, and The Woman without a Shadow. For others, his name signifies symphonic poems such as A Hero’s Life, Till Eulenspiegel and Zarathustra. He was also responsible for great lieder, like the incomparable Four Lasts Songs.
Few remember him as the composer of concertos-from which now the Pannon Philharmonic select the material of a concert that features such soloists as Barnabás Kelemen, Szabolcs Zempléni, and József Kiss.
