Budapest will host the European Table Tennis Championships in 2016, the Hungarian Table Tennis Federation said. The related decision was announced by the European Table Tennis Union (ETTU) in Riva del Garda, Italy, on Sunday.
There were three bidders for the forthcoming two European championships: Budapest, Yekaterinburg and Almeria. ETTU preferred the first two bids and granted next year’s event to the Russian city, and the 2016 Europeans to the Hungarian capital.
The programme will feature men’s and women’s singles, as well as men’s, women’s and mixed doubles, without any team competition.
