Hungary’s Competition Authority GVH Raids Real Estate Agencies’ Offices
- 7 Jul 2014 9:00 AM
The competition authority GVH raided the offices of leading real estate agencies Otthon Centrum and Duna House on Friday, as the two companies are suspected of forming a cartel. The companies agreed in 2013 to make their databases available to one another’s sales staff and websites.
The GVH suspects that the agreement also harmonised service conditions and fees, resulting in higher charges to clients.
Otthon Centrum announced that it will co-operate with the authorities, and stressed that it has signed similar agreements with 230 real estate agencies.
Duna House did not comment.
