Inventory Chaos At Hungarian State Tokaj Wine Producer
An independent audit has revealed large-scale irregularities at state-owned producer of Tokaj wine, Tokaj Keresked ház, Népszabadság writes. Management ordered an investigation in the summer and suspended shipments of wine produced before 2013.

The investigation by a three-member panel found that a vast number of bottles produced before that period were mislabelled or contained ingredients other than what appeared on the label.

The adulteration of wine has been broad-based, Népszabadság writes, citing examples of how different vintages were mixed.

About half of the Ft 3 billion worth of wine stock held by Tokaj Keresked ház is affected, hence these products can now only be sold as lower quality wine at a lower cost.
