Hungary Against Any New Cold War, Szijjártó Tells Russian Paper
Hungary, the European Union, and Russia have a responsibility to avoid becoming enemies, Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó said in an interview published by Russian weekly Kommersant. The upcoming generations would not want another cold war, Szijjártó said.

To avoid that, the Ukraine crisis should be resolved first, he said, suggesting that negotiations under the Minsk Agreements should be further pursued. Szijjártó voiced hope that the situation in Ukraine would be stabilised and European sanctions against Russia need not be expanded.

On the subject of the US entry ban of Hungarian officials, Szijjártó said that US-Hungary ties were “nearly exemplary”, but added that “indeed there are some unresolved issues and for us it is rather awkward”.
