He said the government spent the last four years trying to exchange views with the European Commission on Hungarian legislative changes.
There is probably no other country in the EU where the legislative process is as strictly observed as in Hungary, he added. Szijjártó also said that Hungary is concerned about the developments in Ukraine.
A stable Ukraine is needed in Hungary’s immediate neighbourhood, meaning both the economic and the political situation there, he added and noted that about 200,000 Hungarians live in Ukraine. Commenting on what the EU could do, he said the European perspective has been the best to stabilise eastern European countries and to guarantee peace.
The same is true for Ukraine, he added.
